Most Common Surnames in Central Province (Zambia)

The story of central province cannot be complete without making the mention of the indigenous Lenjes whose senior chief Mukuni ngombe the Kabwe town belongs to. Lala isn't a clan it is a tribe in the central province, Bemba isn't the tribe or the language of the central province, the bemba spoken of in the Kabwe town is the fracas bemba language which most people in urban areas speak. This is due to the fact that the first mine in the Lenje land was opened up in the year 1905 making the then Broken Hall town the first mining town. The population of the Lenje tribe by far outweigh the bemba fracas which is only spoken in Kabwe town.
